Personality: Generally speaking, it takes a lot to get Guy worked up--or very little, if you're a woman. Due to traumatic childhood events, Guy has terrible gynophobia. He can't be within three feet of a female without shaking uncontrollably and attempting to flee. However, due to his friendly nature, Guy treats women kindly when they're far enough away. A few of the maids in the Fabre manor have supposedly fallen a little bit in love with him, only to be disappointed by his inability to be near them. Aside from his phobia, however, Guy is a very easygoing and open person--at least on the outside. It doesn't often show, but he is capable of carrying deep grudges.
Appearance: An even six feet in height, Guy has oddly-spiked blond hair and blue eyes. His everyday attire consists of a high-collared orange vest, a loose-sleeved white shirt, andridiculously tight pants. The outfit comes complete with matching gloves, boots, and collar. In addition to these, since one belt is obviously not enough to hold up pants as tight as his, Guy wears two of them.
History: Gailardia was born the second child of the noble Malkuthian Gardios family. He lived an ordinary life on the isle of Hod until his fifth birthday, when the Kimlascan army attacked his family's home. His sister, Marybelle, hid him from the soldiers as long as she could, but it wasn't enough. The soldiers found them, and Mary and the house maids gave their lives to shield Gailardia from the attacks. He was knocked unconscious, and came to buried under their corpses. Though he repressed the memory, it triggered his gynophobia.
Gailardia was smuggled off the island by two of the Gardios' servants, Vandesdelca and Pere. Together, they made their way to the house of Duke Fabre, the man responsible for the attack on House Gardios. Gailardia took the name Guy Cecil, after one of his mother's cousins, to avoid detection by the Duke. He and Van and Pere became servants of House Fabre, lying in wait and planning their revenge.
The plan was simple: Guy, deprived of his family by Duke Fabre, was determined to cause him the same loss. He was going to kill Duke Fabre's son, Luke. However, at the age of ten, Luke was kidnapped, apparently by the Malkuthian Empire. When he was recovered, he had lost all his memories, and Guy was given the task of looking after him. As the years passed, Guy found that he was unable to kill the boy he had practically raised. He and Luke became best friends, and Guy did his best to put his grudges behind him, though he never really forgave Luke's father.
When Luke went missing from the manor once again, Guy was sent to look for him. He caught up to him outside of St. Binah, and met Jade and Tear there. At first, his only goal was to get Luke back to Baticul, but along their journey it becomes clear that things were not as simple as he had thought. With tensions between Malkuth and Kimlasca rising once again, Jade had been sent to King Ingobert as an envoy of peace. Upon the group's return to Baticul, King Ingobert listened to Jade and Ion's plea, and sent the group to Akzeriuth, as a goodwill gesture toward Malkuth.
Unfortunately, no one had counted on Van. Behind the scenes, he was arranging things towards his own ends, and the journey to Akzeriuth ends in disaster, with most of the group blaming Luke for the catastrophe and abandoning him in Yulia City.
Guy is the first to return to Luke after this, and remains with him throughout the rest of their world-changing adventure, watching with pride as Luke matures.
His past couldn't stay a secret forever, though. Sync, one of the Six God-Generals, used a technique called a "curse slot" on Guy, which used his hidden emotions to control his actions. Under the influence of the curse slot, Guy attacked Luke. Since this isn't the sort of thing that passes without comment between best friends, the story came out, though Guy did not regain his repressed memories until later, during an attack on Daath by one of the other God-Generals.
Due to these events, the Emperor of Malkuth realized that Guy was the heir to House Gardios, and restored his family's assets to him.
